Learning Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality
Today, firstly the students learnt and discussed about two very important terms - Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality. Virtual Reality is a computer-simulated environment that can simulate physical presence in places in the real world. This concept is used in highly visual 3D environment.. This has led to the development of CAD Software ,graphics hardware, database gloves and miniaturization. Augmented Reality is a live , direct or indirect view of physical, real world environment whose elements are augmented( or supplemented)by computer-generated sensory input such as sound, video, graphics and GPS data. This concept is used in hardware components, smartphones, tablets, MEMS ( MicroElectroMechanical System) sensors, GPS, Solid State Compass , Head Mounted Display(HMD), Eyeglasses( Google Glass ) , contact lenses, virtual retinal display, eyetaps and hand helds.

The software ' Picture Collage Maker Pro' was installed in all the computers of the laboratory and students practised it. A collage making competition will be held on the next session of the I.T. club i.e., on 8th September, 2013.
